Store Ownership Policies
These policies ensure that every store offering physical products, experiences, or services on The Host Co meets our standards. They help protect buyers, keep your stores visible, and maintain trust in our platform.
1. Allowed & Disallowed Stores
Allowed: Stores that offer physical products, tangible services, and experiences that comply with all laws and The Host Co rules.
Not allowed: Anything illegal, deceptive, or that violates intellectual property rights. Also, stores that offer nothing (blank stores) or aren’t a real product/service are prohibited.
2. Accurate Descriptions & Photos
Use your own photos and descriptions. Don’t copy someone else’s content or images.
Be truthful about condition, features, materials, sizes, availability, or any limitations. Misleading content may be removed.
3. Clear Item Location & Shipping Information
State clearly where the product/service/experience is located.
Be transparent about shipping costs, delivery methods, estimated delivery time, or for experiences, where/when the event or service happens.
4. No Misleading Keywords or Search Manipulation
Don’t stuff your titles, descriptions, or tags with popular terms that don’t actually describe your offering.
Avoid trying to manipulate search results by using irrelevant keywords.
5. No Cross-Promotion or Off-Platform Redirects
Stores must not contain links that direct people off The Host Co for the purchase or payment process.
Avoid promoting third-party endorsements or logos implying special reputational status unless approved by us.
6. Pre-Sale or Future Delivery Conditions
If you are offering something that won’t be available immediately (e.g. experience/service happening in the future, or product arriving after order), you must disclose:
Expected delivery or availability date
Any conditions or risks (e.g. delays, dependencies)
7. Content & Format Restrictions
Don’t include deceptive or hidden content (e.g. “active code” scripts that could affect page behavior).
Justifiable external content (like needed for experiences — maps, schedules) is OK if it doesn’t mislead or redirect off-platform.
8. Warranties & Guarantees
If you offer any guarantee or warranty, clearly state what it covers, for how long, and any conditions.
Don’t misrepresent warranty terms.
9. Consequences of Violations
If your store breaks these guidelines, The Host Co may take action including:
Removing or hiding the store
Sending you a warning or requiring correction
Restricting your ability to create or manage stores
Temporary or permanent suspension if violations are serious or repeated
